šŸ• A semi-guided project with material from Data Tutorials, where I imported data and extracted relevant insights about a year worth of data about all pizza orders made, 48,620 records and 12 columns.

šŸ›¢ļø The task was to get the exact information to answer 11 important business questions like weekly trend of orders made or the top 5 best pizzas by revenue, to do this I worked with SQL in MySQL Workbench. Imported data from a csv file to the database, dealt with data types and datetime formats and wrote a query for each business question with a way to apply a filter to them.

ā€‹

šŸ“‘ Made a report in Word with all the business questions answered with their respective SQL query and result set.

ā€‹

šŸ“Š Built an interactive report dashboard in Tableau, featuring 5 KPI's and more than 10 charts, some are custom! Includes filters by time period and pizza category for more precise insights. There are 2 versions, one with a custom background made with PowerPoint and the other with Tableau only features.

Story of the Project

With the knowledge I acquired of SQL and data visualization I was ready to work on a project that combines them. I also wanted to use Tableau in a more advanced way than what I have learned, so this project was perfect!

ā€‹

All the SQL part was done on my own, I decided to use MySQL to deal with data types and datetime formats by my own, it was gratifying. šŸ”§

ā€‹

I did by myself the basics in Tableau and for the more advanced techniques I took some guidance, additionally I gave my personal touch and refined all the details. I decided to make a second version of the dashboard to test if I could use other features for a similar result. šŸ“ˆ

ā€‹

It was interesting to learn how to do custom backgrounds for Tableau and get the same data either with SQL or Tableau, also making custom charts and dealing with data types, like datetimes which can be confusing because of time zones and formats, but nothing I cannot do! This was a fun project to show my ability to adapt quickly to different circumstances. šŸ§
